Directors

The Libra Future Fund (LFF) is run by Erik Hayward, Julie Feltis, Melissa Duron and Sean Dugan. All of the four directors are younger than thirty-five years old. While some might view the youth of the LFF Board as problematic, we at the Future Fund believe that our youth affords us the ability to relate more closely to our applicants. This ability to relate to our potential associates, we believe, will help to render us a more potent institution.

Erik Hayward graduated from Yale University in 2004 with a B.A. in Economics. A former member of the Yale Sailing Team, Erik continues to sail both competitively and recreationally along the coast of Maine. In addition to his positions as President of LFF and Vice President at Libra Foundation, Erik is a Trustee of The Park Danforth and a member of the Yale Alumni Schools Committee.

Julie Feltis graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2003 with a B.S. in Business Administration and in 2006 with her MBA. She works for Hannaford Brothers in their Fresh Foods Merchandising department as the Category Manager for fresh fruit. Julie is currently the Secretary of LFF.

Melissa Duron graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2004 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. She currently works for the Gorham-based BioDiversity Research Institute. Prior to attending the University of Southern Maine, Melissa was in the U.S. Army. During her tenure with the Army, she received a diploma in Modern Standard Arabic from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. Melissa is currently Vice President of LFF.

Sean Dugan graduated from Colby College in 2000 with a B.A. in Government and Economics. While at Colby, he was a four-year member and two-time captain of the Varsity Tennis team. Sean serves as Director of Special Projects for MaineHealth, the largest integrated healthcare system in Maine and parent company to Maine Medical Center and other organizations. He serves as Chair of the United Way of Greater Portland's Healthcare Committee for the annual campaign and is a member of the March of Dimes Board.
