The Libra Future Fund (LFF) is run by Erik Hayward, Chelsea Fournier, Lynn Peel and Seabren Reeves. All of the four directors are younger than thirty-five years old. While some might view the youth of the LFF Board as problematic, we at the Future Fund believe that our youth affords us the ability to relate more closely to our applicants. This ability to relate to our potential associates, we believe, will help to render us a more potent institution.
Erik Hayward graduated from Yale University in 2004 with a B.A. in Economics. A former member of the Yale Sailing Team, Erik continues to sail both competitively and recreationally along the coast of Maine. In addition to his positions as President of LFF and Vice President at Libra Foundation, Erik is a Trustee of The Park Danforth, the Maine Maritime Museum and a member of the Yale Alumni Schools Committee.
Chelsea Fournier graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2004 with a B.A. in Psychology, and from the University of Maine School of Law in 2008 with a JD. She is both a lawyer and a serial entrepreneur. She enjoys working with start-up and growth phase companies as an advisor and also on the ground. She is currently of-counsel to Opticliff Law, and also a regional leader growing a preventative health company into New England. She lives in Lewiston and is an active member of the entrepreneurial and arts communities in both Lewiston and Portland.
Lynn Peel is the founder of Beach Glass Transitions, a senior care advising company. She is an active member of the Portland Area Coalition for Elder Services, Healthcare Networking Group of Southern Maine, the Cumberland Senior Networking Group and the Southern Maine Agency on Aging's Long Term Care Working Group. Lynn holds certifications in Senior Advising and is a trainer in Habilitation Therapy for dementia care. Additionally, Lynn sits on the Family Advisory Board for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. She is a Top Gun 2012 Graduate, sponsored by the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development.
Seabren Reeves is President & Co-Founder (with wife Whitney) of Bitzy Baby®, which was a JPMA Innovation Award Finalist for the co-invented and patented safety product: Bitzy Bumper®. Seabren has seven years experience in Fortune 500 IT at Unum, where he serves on innovation-focused strategic planning teams. A thought leader on the ASTM International Infant Bedding SubCommittee, former Big Brothers Big Sisters Director and Congressional Intern for US Senator Susan Collins, Seabren graduated from University of Maine at Farmington in 2005 and spent a semester abroad at Oxford Brookes University.
